James Freer

Jimmy is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point's BFA acting program, and is excited to be joining the Barely Balanced team.

He has more than 12 years of acting experience and has played characters ranging from Officer Lockstock in Urine Town the Musical to Brutus in Julius Caesar to the tall hobo down by the gas station that screams at traffic (but that was just for fun).

Jimmy is also an active member of Chicago's Suitcase Shakespeare Company and has recently worked as the assistant fight director at the Bristol Renaissance Faire.

He would like to thank his parents, H. Russ Brown for showing him the joys of movement, and Ron and Susan Scot Fry for believing in him enough to give him his start, only to have him turn around and become an acrobat.

Casey Martin

Casey Martin is an enthusiastic and fearless addition to Barely Balanced. Whether stiltwalking, eating/breathing fire or rock climbing, this 23 year old is ready to take on the more dangerous divisions of life.

She began her acting career early in her home town of Mechanicsburg, PA. As the lead in all the school plays and being reviewed regularly by local newspapers for community theater she decided to take it up a notch. Soon she began working at the PA Renaissance Faire as a stiltwalker and juggler. However, this taste of adrenaline only intensified her desire for stunt acting.

She is now working as a professional acrobat. On top of all that she is a recent graduate of West Chester University studying theater and philosophy. Casey's other hobbies include camping, dancing, writing and politics.

Cameron comes from a long line of hyperactive adventurers.  It was therefore no surprise when he formed Barely Balanced and set out to live his childhood dream.  He would
climb everything, speak loudly, throw all that is shiny, and live a life of farcical adventure.

Without training in gymnastics, performing or juggling he taught himself through trial and error (the errors lead to the trials).  Over the years he has worked hard to develop Barely Balanced from a group of friends climbing on each other to an award winning show taking the nation by storm.

Outside of performing Cameron loves nature.  He has a degree in Natural and Historical Interpretation and enjoys teaching whenever he can.
He hopes to perform for the rest of his life and one day, when he conquers dyslexia, be an author of many books that will challenge others to imagine.
